Impressive. Maybe a bit too much like a Shyamalan movie, but this had better delivery, which is saying a great deal, and is still very original. Its previews did not do it justice. The movie seems as if it doesn't feel obligated to shock or impress you, but rather draw you in to the story, invest you in the characters, then turn on the afterburners. With an epic final few seconds. In other words, a smart, emotional, well-done movie that ranks as one of the best, in at least the past few years.
Marvel really are stretching the friendship these days.
I leave my reality meter at the door. But their does need to be credible story line and the fantasy does need to be believable continuity.
Seeing this Wakonda technology or Tony Stark's suit morphing into any nano-tech he (the script writers) decide to pull out of the backsides leaves me shaking my head now.
This thin superhero movie was probably the 2nd least favourite with Black Panther the clear winner in crappy superhero movies.
I did love the Thor / Guardians segments. The rest, well, meh
Another overrated comic book movie
What a load of hype over a mediocre film. Bloated, over-wrought and ultimately pointless as you know they’re just going to bring back all the victims of Thanos’ snap in the next film.. So many characters made absolutely moronic decisions that I started to think maybe Thanos was right.
I was mighty hard on Avengers: Infinity War the first time I saw it, and some of the points still stand. It's a bit boring, and some of the actors seem bored too. I still think they could have done better when it came to the story as well, but it has grown on me a little this second time around. It certainly didn't make me want to abandon the whole thing like the first time around.
Avengers: Infinity War will never be up there with the best of the MCU, but it still has a place. Easier to see that when you don't have to wait so long between MCU movies.
Let's call Avengers: Infinity War for what it is...a wasted opportunity.
Yes, Yes... it has an epic feel, and the effects are rather nice. Does that help much when you get bored 10 minutes in?
The MCU has gone downhill lately and the new(ish) Avengers bout is not an exception. The actors look somewhat bored, the action is...weird, and it makes the cardinal sin of any action movies...it's bland and boring.
If it hadn't been for the MCU continuity, I probably wouldn't have finished this one. Let's get back to origin stories and the likes. Leave the space stuff for some other Disney franchise (NOT that they've been doing better with those lately).
Anyway...I've got a couple of MCU movies I haven't seen yet. Maybe those are better. Avengers: Infinity War gets a big MEH from me...
Movie was ok.
Predictable Storie. Stupid sayings. A whiny spiderman. The Deaths will be undone. Thanos motivations to destroy the half Universe are implausible.
Marvel got nothing more for me. I will always be an DC Fan.
I don’t get the appeal of these.
Yeah, the stuntwork’s great, but I see no redeeming qualities besides that. The acting sucks, the dialogue’s corny, the story is schlock that’s presented way too seriously, the characters are uninteresting, there’s little to no tension because the main character is an invincible cartoon, the music’s unmemorable and generic, and most of the film is just plain damn boring.
All the good stuff that this has to offer is also offered by franchises like Mission Impossible and Fast and Furious, and more on top of that.
You’re not getting the clever intrigue or fun gimmicks of the MI franchise here, nor the tongue in cheek comedy or creative, over the top insanity of the F&F franchise.
This is so boring by comparison to me.
4/10
The weakest script, terrible one liners, and some extremely predictable pathways. It's still entertaining as far as action goes because the entire movie other than say 10minutes of "backstory" are filled with it, but that doesn't make it a good movie.
Sorry, but this was a dumb tween movie. MCU writers on holiday here?
Very disappointing movie, to childish to enjoy, to many dumb decisions.
