Loved this episode, loved the characters development and the writing. Also, what other show could feature Doris Day, Duran Duran and KRS-One all in one episode.
I'm glad Isaac came clean early in the season. Maeve was never going to be okay with that he did, so best to be done with it now.
And I'm getting strong Delores Umbridge vibes from the new headmistress. I'm guessing there will eventually be a student revolt and Groff will somehow get his job back, possible with less fervor than before?
Well, looks like this show subverted my expectations yet again. I was sure the Isaac thing was gonna be dragged out till the last possible moment. I'm pleasantly surprised.
In other news, Maeve's mom is still the worst, the headmistress has made the fastest change from hero to villain I've ever seen, Maeve and Aimee's friendship is everything to me, Adam's character development is great (I love that he's finding ways to change his harmful patterns of behavior, we stan) and Otis and Ruby might just be the first time I actually ship the couple that's in the way of another couple I'm rooting for.
Nothing like a sex montage to start off the new season.
Whoever gave Maeve that haircut needs to be shot. Someone really looked at the gorgeous Emma Mackey and thought it would be a good idea to give her these bangs. Disgraceful.
Even though I ship Maeve and Otis, he and Ruby are cute. Maeve and Isaac on the other hand are a big nope for me. I hope he stays firmly in the friend zone, but this show is a teen drama, so it could go either way at this point.
Ah, that's the Good Fight I remember! Superb episode, hilarious at times. And Abernathy's back!!
Another intoxicatingly rich episode.
Marissa getting kicked out i was like :cold_sweat::cold_sweat::cold_sweat:
Politics was brilliant
The Wackner court plot line is getting very old, very fast. This is by far the worst season of this show. I get what they're trying to say, but it's too surreal, and the writing is just not that good.
Easily one of the worst episodes this season. The show/mock courts take over, but I'd really like to see some real court action. And the whole firm-situation with racism, power-play, misogynism doesn't resonate at all with me, it just feels too contrived. And let's add the drug king pin trying to make some pot-ice cream... WTF? It feels as if this show runs out of (serious) ideas. Unfortunately, as I still love the setting and the characters.
For some reason, this episode really stuck out in my memory. Being in the small town while this intense storm is raging around them is a striking visual.
Why would the biology lab have access to the school's PA system?
The thing about this whole "no one knows Peter but he knows everything!!" arc is that it's frustrating as a viewer. We know that they're all supposed to know him, so all this running around being suspicious of him is just aggravating. This would've been a better plot arc had Peter been a completely new character. Or, if it looked like Peter but they claimed they were someone else, or if it was some unknown dude saying they're Peter. Then the fact that he knows all this stuff would be mysterious. But as it is, you're just waiting for the inevitable reset or whatever trigger allows them to move past this.
I don't get what exactly Olivia thought she was going to be able to do. She'd only ever managed a minute or two on the other side. Why did she think it would be different now? It was complete luck that she managed to find someone to talk to, and more luck that they actually listened to her. Pretty dumb.
We saw the other side's medicine capable of completely, 100% healing severe body-covering burns in a matter of weeks. But they can't do anything about blindness?
People are allowed to change up their appearance every now and then, but so many changes for Olivia happening right after they came back from the alternate universe? And no one finds that suspicious? It's so dumb.
Lol at the random zoom-in on the Ford Taurus text, and the lingering shot on the Sprint logo. There hadn't been such blatant product placement before now.
So shooting the deaf guy left no kind of mess in the kitchen whatsoever? Surrrrre.
Leonard Nimoy was great, but I wonder if William Bell would've factored into the show more had he been cast differently. With how much of both Walter and Bell's past factor into the show, I feel like Bell should've been a more prominent character.
(Future spoilers) I know this is not the true end of Bell's appearances, but he still doesn't show up very much.
I'm sure the actors/writers/production crew/etc have fun making these types of episodes, but they always feel like a gigantic waste of time as a viewer.
This episode in blu-ray has a much higher proportion, the images are much more noticeable and clear, unlike the streaming that sacrifices everything. Second time I watch it in BD and it only enriched my experience even more. The open plans are beautiful and you could see perfectly the battle in the sky between the dragons (one of the best and most tense moments of the episode).
I continue to find this war all too intense and unpredictable. And that is why the outcome seems too easy. After all, it was eight seasons building the threat from the White Walkers and the Night King. As much as it is praiseworthy and exciting for Arya to be the person to kill him, this bittersweet taste remains in my mouth.
I'm sorry for everyone who fell... Jorah, Lyanna, Edd... Theon, who was very brave. And I'm sorry for Melisandre. Her last scene is impressive. And it surprises me because she committed one of the most cruel acts in the series, which was the cowardly murder of Shireen. But still, the character managed to grow on me.
I know it's already become fairly cliche to compare any kind of virus-related thing to COVID in this past year, but you can't help it. Hearing the CDC guy say "we don't have the infrastructure to deal with this kind of thing" when looking at the infection spread model and it was like NOPE YOU SURE DON'T!
Speaking of which, Madagascar was left untouched in that infection simulation. Someone on the animation team played the Pandemic flash game, I take it.
A pure cinema episode as much as the previous one. This sequence involving the Great Sept, the soundtrack, all the tension involved... Masterpiece. As I mentioned before, I feel NOTHING for Cersei other than profound contempt and hatred. But her move to kill the High Sparrow and the militants was too surprising and too clever. I'm just sorry that Margaery and Loras died there, they did not deserve such a fate.
Arya's journey this season ending with her crossing out another name on her vengeance list. The scene in which she ends Walder Frey's life is so satisfying. Justice for Robb and Catelyn, finally.
This season is too incredible. Third time I watch it and I only get to like it even more.
It’s too bad they killed Dr. Bashir. I was hoping to see more of him.
Great moments in this episode. Tyrion and Daenerys getting to know each other. Cersei getting what she deserves inside that cell, how satisfying that is. Is she licking the floor? Great. It's just what she wanted for Margaery...
And this iconic and unexpected battle against the White Walkers. The Night King opening his arms and bringing back the dead to fight in his army... Wow. In fact, Jon Snow is very brave, I think no one can deny that.
If there's one thing that gives me pleasure in this life, it's watching the Lannisters get screwed. After accompanying Cersei endorsing the Militant Faith, giving power to the High Sparrow, I feel completely fulfilled to see her being arrested and thrown into that cell just as she planned for Margaery. It seems that she didn't understand that the laws apply equally to everyone. Or else she forgot that incest is a sin. Anyway, I am so genuinely happy.
Joffrey was a coward. And apparently, Tommen is also a coward. How does he simply allow his queen to be taken prisoner with men there who could protect her? Silly boy.
I hate Ramsay Bolton. I think I hate him even more than I hated Joffrey. Sansa has been through so much... She didn't deserve this.
Jaime and Bronn have a fun dynamic together. I liked their scenes.
I can only feel a lot of HATE for Cersei giving power to these extremists and how she pretends she doesn't know anything ... Now the war between her and Margaery reaches its peak.
Ser Barristan fought bravely in that final sequence.
I feel bad for Sansa. She has already suffered so much with Joffrey and Cersei. Now she’s going to have to marry and get involved with people who are directly linked to the death of her family. Ramsay is even more sadistic than Joffrey. I think he’s even more cruel, perhaps. She didn’t deserve this.
It's so irritating the pleasure that Stannis, his wife and Melisandre show in front of people being burned alive. Jon Snow did the right thing under the circumstances. Despite the friction, Mance didn't deserve to die in agony.
I get goosebumps with Jon being elected Lord Commander. This scene got even better, too, by Sam making fun of Slynt in front of everyone.
Daenerys tied up... So Tyrion needs to arrive urgently. She needs some "light" to rule, and he can provide it for her.
I loved seeing Dr. Bashir over there in Dorne.
Oberyn swam to die on the beach. Just the sound of his skull bursting through the hands of the Mountain is something to traumatize me for the rest of my life, the image of his head shattered, so... No matter how many times I watch this scene, it always leaves me disturbed and impressed. If only you had been straightforward, Oberyn... You didn't have to die, and Tyrion wouldn't be put to death either. If only you hadn't been distracted by your thirst for revenge.
These GOT cliffhangers always take my breath away. And for me it is very satisfying to see that smile disappear from Lysa’s annoying face before flying out of the Moon Door.
Highlight for Tyrion and Oberyn’s dialogue. Cersei has been monstrous since she was a child. This woman is despicable. Who knew Oberyn would have the perfect opportunity to take his revenge right now. Iconic is the moment when he declares that he’ll be Tyrion’s champion.
