I always loved seeing Yoon Hyun Min play since Falling for Innocence, but in this show he plays 2 totally different characters which I totally loved! He’s one of the greater Korean actors of this era. Absolute legend. I really loved this show. Bingewatched it in a day. Congrats to all involved for making such a great story and one where the side characters are not overlooked since that happens frequently in Kdrama. A perfect mixture of love, friendship, excitement and a great message of realising that everyone is beautifully imperfect. Definitely a MUST WATCH!
One of my favourite shows so far! Simon Baker is an amazing actor. I loved seeing him play Patrick Jane. He always plays his characters so naturally and convincing, that you sometimes wonder whether he's actually acting. The dynamic between Cho/Rigsby, Van Pelt/Rigsby and Lisbon/Jane were one of the best things about the show. Even the characters in later seasons such as Dennis and Wylie were a great asset to the show. I am ashamed I only found out about this show 5 years after its end. What I also love about this show is that everything is so well thought of. The script, the development of the characters, the acting, everything is so compelling and interesting and you just never get bored. Especially the relationships between the characters are so well written. Not once did I think it was too cheesy or slow or too fast or not believable. You follow these characters on their journey and how they become friends or how they fall in love with subtle hints throughout the show, and you just root for their happiness. It's so beautiful and so real. Nothing feels forced or strange. The only part that I might be a little sad about or think that should have been handled better is the development of Cho. He was an interesting and funny character, but they didn't really focus much on him compared to the others. There were some moments where I really felt they could have given him an interesting storyline or zoom in a bit more on that particular situation, but they just let it slide so easily, that I was thinking afterwards: why did they hint on this situation and then just forget about it? Why introducing a storyline to just throw it away later on? That was the only thing I was a bit frustrated about. They should have given the actor more credit, more things to work with. Other than that, this will always be one of my favourite shows! Sad that it ended, but in a good way. I will forever be in love with Simon Baker's smile and Patrick Jane's wit.
Started off very good but ending really sucked. There was so much story building of so many characters and they only gave us the main couples getting together in the end. While that's great, I would have loved to know what happened with them after spending so much time with Yoon Ha, Chang Soo and Joon Gi's families. The main couple wasn't really convincing while the second leads really made the show. The acting, chemistry was so on point. I laughed and I cried when they laughed and cried. Their dynamic was something you enjoyed watching. For me, Park Hyung Shik was the best of all four main actors. He is truly a great actor and hope to see more of him in the future. I'll never forget the scene with his mom in episode 14. So intense and so well played with even the tiniest of facial expressions added to the performance. I also liked seeing Sung Joon in a more complicated, twisted role although his performance in Lie to Me was much better than in High Society, even though he didn't have a main role in that one. Overall, I'll give it a 7/10. Good build up, but lacked closure in the end.
This was a show I did not expect I would love that much. It was incredibly funny, stupid but funny, but also very mysterious and exciting. The perfect amount of drama and comedy. Which is much needed these days. It’s not super heavy, but also not super light. Perfect balance. I also loved the chemistry between all characters. There wasn’t one character I did not like, which is rare for K-dramas. Anxiously waiting for a second season though! It gets an open ending that really screams CONTINUATION. Hope it comes through! :clap_tone1:
This show broke me. Genius show. Brilliant acting (especially Cha Seung Won, that man is a legend). Great storybuilding. Funny as hell. So many feels. (PK still breaks my heart though) Addicting soundtrack. Although the CGI could have been better, especially with the dragon, it looked really bad. Other than that, it's just that good. The ending gives us an option/possibility for a second season. Not sure if they'll do it since it's not that common in Korea, but if they do, I'm all up for it! I really really enjoyed watching it and is now one of my favourites on my list.
