This is the kind of post-apocalyptic slife-of-life you will only ever get in anime format. Despite looking like it would be focused on war-themes it just sets the backdrop as it is more concerned with exploring the mysterious world they live in. While there are plenty of elements I despised it was still an enjoyable ride set to a great OST. It's closer to the original Kino's Journey than the remake this season...
I enjoyed the author's previous anime adaptation "The Comic Artist and His Assistants" and Aho-Girl is quite similar. While again not all jokes are always working; she's just so loud and void of common sense I can't help but feel entertained.
A cute show where it's easy to tune in.
Not really the most exciting gambling show as the games sort of happen without the viewer feeling much of an investment or really having much to guess about but damn are the facial expressions gold (very similar to Prison School).
While I didn't hate the show it has a weird tone as if your parents were trying to be edgy & cool but are still settling for family friendly goofs... The episodic nature keeps things somewhat interesting as it's the local residents whose interactions end up being especially cringeworthy.
If anime taught me anything then it's that it can make even the most apparent (subjective) boring things work. Unfortunately a lot of this was just not very exciting, part because of it's generic framework and imho muddled character interactions but also because of Production I.G not bringing their A-game.
Penned by NisiOisiN this is mostly a boring tournament show in the vein of Fate... just a bit more edgy (looking at you necromancer bunny). You shouldn't bother with this unless are shooting to see every action show ever. The format is repetitive (queue backstory, then fight!), the production is far from sleek and there isn't much to latch onto given the format otherwise.
Pretty much your standard light novel adaptation with all of it's flaws.. the biggest one being that this isn't optimized at all for a 12 episode show and mostly wanders on fillter-tier content without proper resolution. I probably would have dropped this if I wasn't hoping for a certain character to become more active in the story.
The cooking recipes shown in the ending sequence are more interesting than the actual show.
What fanservice elements make up in female centered idol shows is here replaced by "we have jobs and hobbies because dudes". It's all a bit mundane for my tastes so I'll leave it at three episodes ;)... not that I should have started this show in the first place.
