It's a good movie, it just has that kind of ending that frustrates me and makes me feel disappointed and sad. Endings like this leave me feeling like I wasted my time caring about the people. The more I think about it afterwards the more problems I notice. Why were they unable to contact anyone from mars or earth at any point. Why is there no backup power for the engines. Why did the engines turn from hitting debris. How are they getting more water. why don't they direct power from all the extremely unnecessary entertainment to steering the ship. Why would earth send something unusable to the ship. If it wasn't for the ship why would they send it on the same course as the ship.
It has been a while since a movie or show has made me cry, I certainly wasn’t expecting this bonkers anime to be the one to do it. It switches from comedy to drama at the drop of a hat. It does lean more towards comedy though, and it excels at it. Every episode is a joy to see what weird escapades they are gonna be getting into this time. And yet I found myself caring a great deal about the main cast and their lives. The final episode was a great way to tie things up, and after a very sad but realistic loss I found myself crying with a mixture of happiness and sadness with that final scene. It was a very fun and engaging time throughout.
I think the fact that they actually made the movie is the funniest thing about it. But it just feels like a funny joke that was stretched out way too much. When the whole joke is that weird Al's life was nothing like this, it becomes boring after a while. It feels like a slightly exaggerated version of any other biopic.
It's kinda sad that the movie still feels relevant. I wish I enjoyed it more though. It felt too slow paced and never really picked up till the last 10-20 minutes. The ending was obvious from the beginning but how they got there was really terrible. The main character just acts so stupidly all of a sudden and it doesn't make sense for her to do that.
It felt like it rushed through the story. Especially the ending, it was just over all of a sudden.
I never felt like the two main characters were in trouble, it made it hard to feel worried about the stakes. Nimona can be so over the top that it just feels forced at times. Which could be the point, but it just feels unnecessary. I was really hoping I was going to love this movie, but it just felt kinda alright. It could have been so much more with its themes and ideas. Maybe a more fleshed out show would have been a better choice for the story. I did like how seriously it took things when Nimona became the monster she was always told she was and attempted suicide at the end. She was just done and couldn’t do it anymore. I wish more of the story had that much effort and attention put in it. I do think Nimona should have stayed dead. So many shows or movies have this big emotional scene with someone important dying and then somehow they come back. It almost always feels cheap and lessons their sacrifice for an easy smile from the audience.
Not as good as the first series, a bit rushed would be the main flaw. The cast is enjoyable and it has potential for more in the next seasons
It’s definitely better than the first, but that is a very very low bar. There are still the regular human characters that feel very out of place. Their personalities are so boring and their storyline feels like I’m watching a different movie. It felt very jaring watching a garbage wedding scene waiting for the movie to continue. Why they think boring characters deserve focus in any movie let alone a sonic one, I will never understand. Sonic and his cast are the only interesting characters, Robotnik is the only human that fits in. Sonic and tails’s friendship doesn’t have much development, it feels very rushed into them being friends. Knuckles does feels very powerful and like a real threat. There are a lot of scenes that just feel like filler. Too many uncreative attempts at comedy. I think a fan edit could certainly help a lot, but it’s still not a very engaging or interesting overall story. There are various easter eggs and references, but they add no substance or anything really. Yes the coffee shop is named “mean bean” I get it, it’s not funny or important though. The action scenes were good. Don’t really recommend it. I am hopeful the third movie continues the improvement they started here. The current comics are still some of the best showcase of sonic stories done well.
It has really great enjoyable action almost the entire time. But the villians make some incredible stupid choices that don't make sense with how meticulous everything else about their actions and plans are. The villians should have won.
The Flanderization of burt is complete. He was the only reason I was interested in the sequel and his character is ruined. Just terrible writing, nothing fun or enjoyable here.
