2x01 Home

New season, new beginning. Things start to look good in the new place. I like the change of scenery.

@andreas1138 So, you got to another show I absolutely love. Watched it probably three times already. The concept is great. Enjoy it.

@finfan This was my favourite show when I was 11 or 12. There was a time when the TV played it in the morning. Since I was in school, I remember setting my VHS recorder to record the episodes. Chaplin said "A day without laughter is a day wasted!", for me it was "A day without Early Edition is a day wasted!".

It took me some time to recover the DVD (there is none, in Italy, as I am aware) and I took my time before watching the series again. When we grow up, we tend to see things we liked when we were young a little bit naive. But I was wrong and I now get some depth I missed when I was a small boy.

Chuck was just a comic relief for me, but now I can appreciate the character more. If I had the paper, I would probably use it for my own gain like Chuck. Helping others, but taking the time to create a small fortune. Gary knows that using it like that, you'll lost yourself. Marissa plays a nice balance to Chuck's intentions and keeps Gary in line. I appreciate her even more today.

Most of the stories are nice and well written. Very good guest stars too!
Even if it was my favourite series, it's strange that I can't remember much (more than 20 years passed!).
I can't remember 95% of the episodes.
Things I remember:
- The three main characters.
- Ron Dean (when I watch The Dark Knight I think about his character in Early Edition)
- Gary's parents (especially his mother)
- That at some point Gary transfered in McGinty's pub
- Marissa being in danger in a contruction site... still no such thing happened, I was sure it was in the pilot episode
- Chuck winning a lot of money for helping a (fake) homeless crossing the road
- the bartender of the pub (I think the actor enters the cast once Fisherman goes away) helping during a bad traffic day and being good at it. I remember him being quite funny.

That's it. Some of the things happened in the first season, others maybe will happen as I watch more episodes.

In Italy the series is called "Ultime dal cielo", that roughly translates into "News from the sky\heaven".
