Definitely a big departure from the books. Not horrible for it though; it's been an enjoyable watch, for the most part. It falls off a bit the last few episodes. I think people who haven't read the books will have an easier time enjoying it maybe than people who have and can't get over the fact that adaptations are a thing and changes are made. Doesn't make them bad, necessarily. Also, how about of all those beautiful, naked, rehydrated Trisolarians (or San Tinos, I guess?) in episode 2. Didn't get that image from the novel, I'll tell you what  As for any comparisons with the Chinese series, it was definitely truer to the source material and I'm usually the guy saying, "They should have made a limited series out of (insert novel here), this movie didn't do it justice at all." But damn, the Chinese series was so unnecessarily long and drawn out. It really could have used some trimming in the adaptation and editing phases; pacing was dreadful. This series may be a big departure from the novels, but it was done with the author's blessing as he understood the need to make it appeal to a wider, international audience and more accessible than the source material may have been for some people.
Probably one of the best anime of the season/year, I’ll give it a 9.5-10. 2nd season officially announced Siuuuuuu :)
Great ending for a awesome show
I'm glad it ending wholesome and has an happy ending. love the dynamic duo of Shinpei and Ushio.
Great movie, not a masterpiece by any means, but the music by eve is great and the 3d visuals with 2d animations is really well blended, the story is not anything to write home about but does the job and kept me interested throughout the movie, the movie felt like a longer music video from eve and that is a good thing in my opnion
I can understand people not liking it, since as i said, its not a masterpiece, just a good movie, what i cant understand is people liking the complete trainwreck that is belle and then not liking this movie, that is better than that in literally every way possible.
I have to say that this was one of the goofiest episodes I have ever seen but oh boy THE ACTION was absolute masterpiece. I was pretty much disarmed here, becuase I wasn't prepared for that. How did even anyone thought, that this is a good idea. But it was sooo good.
I can't express my emotions here but you have to see it for yourself.
I really like that they are going for more unrealistic uproach although I should have expected that, since it's already 5th episode. The thing that everyone thought, there is something more behind this whole thing is just wholesome.
Still I can't get over drunk Yor and here instant sleeping. Like bro how are you capable of fighting and then the next second be able to sleep on the floor. More scenes like these please!
Other than that. Just go and see it for yourself. You won't be disappointed even if it might seem like a really awkward episode. :D
When you order a pepperoni pizza and they deliver a pepperoni pizza, do you complain they didn't serve you filet mignon? This film is the pepperoni pizza of action films. If you want an action film, this has got it. It's not especially new or revolutionary or poetic, but at least it's got action from beginning to end which is more than many other action films of late.
Why the hate? It's a pretty piece of slice of life
I wish they would follow the book, rather than buy the rights to the book, then throw it all away and just make up new stuff which is apparently what they have done.
Solid ending. Nothing too amazing but it was pretty good nonetheless. The show overall was pretty solid. The start of the show was fantastic but it kind of lost steam from there on. It definitely had some slow parts and got off track a bit in the second cour, but it finished up relatively strong enough. Not sure that it ever lived up to the massive hype that was behind it early on. Too bad we never got that perfect Dororo x Hyakkimaru ending. Other than for this tiny glimpse of "grownup" Dororo...

Just a friendly warning. Prepare loads of tissues for this EP. Damn... onions.
Overall this show was much too pro-military for me, otherwise it could have been outstanding SciFi. Why it was decided to portray the military, as well as the lawyers and the politicians, in such a glorious light, I will never get. Is the American way, which I as a western European cannot grasp, the reason or was it just some bad choice by the writers / director / ...?
As it is, the new Battlestar Galatica series is very solid and mostly intriguing and I can recommend it to SciFi-Fans.
Watching order
Because there are some issues with watching this, here is the order.
Copying from the site in case it ever goes down, but this info came from here: http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.com/2010/02/battlestar-galactica-viewing-order.html
It's probably more confusing here on trakt, so go to the above linked site for a better layout.

Razor (101 minute extended version - not the 81 minute broadcast version)
Important note: This was originally broadcast just before Season 4, but chronologically it fits here, telling more of the Pegasus's story. Some people argue it's better to watch after Season 3, as originally broadcast, but it makes most sense to watch it here.
The reason that the placement of Razor is a hotly contested issue among BSG fans is because of a bit of dialogue at the very end (in the last 10 minutes) which sets the tone for Season 4 (barely even a spoiler). Everything else in this TV movie is not a spoiler.
So why place it here, and not where it was originally broadcast, if there's any sort of issue? Because, chronologically, the story is set here, and by the time you reach the end of Season 3, the story of Pegasus will feel like ancient history. Indeed, that was the complaint echoed around the internet from fans after Razor originally aired -- it had nothing to do with what was going on in the story at that time.
As a result of this, most fans agree it's better to watch Razor here. In doing so, you'll appreciate the story more and it will have greater emotionally resonance. In short: I highly recommend that you follow my advice and watch it here.
There is one small caveat, however: In order to deal with the above dialogue issue, and so not to unintentionally alter the tone of Season 3, I have two, very specific instructions that I recommend that you follow for your absolute optimum enjoyment.
I will try not to spoil anything with these instructions, so pay attention. You need to press MUTE on your TV (and/or turn off any subtitles) in the following two moments. Both of these moments occur in the last 10 minutes of the story, so you can relax and enjoy the first 90 mins before you need to worry.
Press MUTE when:
and shortly afterwards:
That's it! That's all you have to worry about. Two very small moments, and even if you don't unmute it, it's not a huge spoiler, it just unintentionally alters the tone of Season 3 if you don't, so do try your best to follow my instructions.

Then Caprica the series: http://trakt.tv/show/caprica
My name is Savitar, and I am the fastest God alive. To the outside timeline, I'm an ordinary happy Barry, but secretly with the help of Killer Frost, I troll everyone with my use of grammar and fight past me. In an attempt to prevent Me from destroying myself, I walked out of my armor to show Me to Myself. But I won't let that happen, I'm gonna do everything in my power to not change the past, and I'm the only one fast enough to do it. I am Savitar.
THAT. WAS. ABSOLUTELY. BEAUTIFUL.
10/10
If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.
I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.
This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.
While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.
So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.
Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.
2-feb-2017 edit: Just came out on Bluray and I saw it again. Definitely keeping my rating.
Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.
I'm not sure what to say. I don't know how I expected this show to end. On one hand, I'm okay with this ending, and I think it was a good way to conclude the show. On the other, I feel completely empty inside. It's strange to think that we're not getting another episode next week.
I was sure that John would be the one to die. It made the most sense. He had a good death, fighting until the very end. Still, I cried my eyes out when it happened.
I'm glad that Shaw is alive, and that she has Bear by her side. I loved how she smiled in the last scene. She totally heard Root's voice on the phone.
Finch is finally reunited with Grace!
So The Machine was talking to a version of herself all along. I'd kind of suspected that.
This was a great episode, and the last few minutes of it were bittersweet but also hopeful. The Machine's final monologue was epic. You know how sometimes you hear something so profound and powerful, something that speaks to you so deeply that you have to fight the urge to get it tattooed on your body? That's what I felt like when I heard that monologue. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the way they tied it all up.
Now, it's time for me to say goodbye.
I discovered Person of Interest quite late - just a few months before season 5 started. I wasn't hooked right away, but I stuck with the show because I'd read stellar reviews online. It took me almost an entire season to really get into it.
And then Root showed up, kidnapped Finch, stole my heart in about 0.2 seconds, and I was officially obsessed. It took me only 10 days to binge-watch seasons 2-4 (after all, who needs school? Who needs sleep?). This show was a wild ride, and I'm grateful that I got to experience it.
Thank you, Person of Interest.
Thank you for giving us compelling storylines, jaw-dropping plot twists and intense action scenes.
Thank you for exploring fascinating themes, such as AI and the true meaning of humanity.
Thank you for gorgeous cinematography, spectacular score and special effects that blockbuster movies could be jealous of.
Thank you for phenomenal characters, fantastic relationships, consistent characterization and incredible character development.
Thank you for starting my obsession with Amy Acker, which resulted in me binge-watching 19 episodes of Angel in one day (no, I do not possess amazing impulse control).
Thank you for making me laugh, making me cry, making me think, making me lose sleep over you.
Is there something about this show that I'm not happy with? Absolutely. I wish CBS hadn't acted like dicks and had given us a full season instead of measly 13 episodes. I wish Root hadn't died, and a part of me will always be bitter about it. I wish Shaw and Root had had more time. I wish they had paced the final season better (Root and Shaw are reunited after 10 months and over 7,000 simulations, Root dies in the following episode, and then we get a case of the week as if nothing happened? That's just bullshit right there), but I also know that the showrunners tried to do the best they could with a reduced number of episodes. And overall, they succeeded, making Person of Interest one of very few TV shows that were just as, if not more, exquisite in their last season as they were in their first.
Goodbye, Person of Interest. You will always be one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I don't think I'll ever get to watch something as engaging, thrilling, smart, thought-provoking, heartbreaking and powerful as you again.
One of the best movies that Disney has made. The visuals and animation is incomparable to any studio (except Disney itself with Pixar) and the story is so well balanced, with (meta-)comedy and drama/suspense mixed so well together. The voice actors really makes you believe in a world where animals can be anthropomorphic and live in a society. A must-watch for children but also anyone who appreciate the beauty of animated storytelling.
Great season. I'm hoping the next season to be the last one. It would be a perfect trilogy: past, present and future, not specifically in any order.

You're god damn right, brothah. You're god damn right... ಥ_ಥ
In a show with so many characters, one of the most emotional deaths was the guy with one word of dialogue. That's why Game of Thrones is so great.
Wait, Mike Ross escaped from prison, changed his name and became a superhero of the JSA??!! Well, if he couldn't be a lawyer...
I REALLY don't get why most people didn't like it. In my opinion it really worked quite neatly
Why did he have to stand that near. That was so obvious
I'm giving it a 10 because of the beautiful last scene. So elegant and well executed. Though the episode and the second half of the season were all over the place and the characters made no sense and I really didn't like it...I kept watching because it always delivered something no other show on tv has (and Fuller always gives me), and that's the cinematographic quality. And that last scene had it all.
Linda Hamilton has a very funny Terminator reference.
Bit of an underwhelming finale really. I was expecting the battle for planet nine to be pretty epic in scale, something on par with the finale in the first series, instead when they confirmed the planet had been conquered, I thought "What, that's it?". I thought they were just rescuing the recon team!
Overall series 2 wasn't as good as the first in my opinion. It started strong, the first episode really hit the ground running, but towards the middle it lost its way a bit and we ended up with more than one episode of pure slice of life silliness, which was always the show's weakest point.
I hope we'll see another series, as the story is definitely not over, but this one was a bit of a let down. And really, stick with what you're best at, Sidonia. More awesome battles, less forced awkward harem situations.
