What exactly was the point of this episode? Why did Thrawn stick around so long? As soon as the cargo was on board, he could have left. And what's the deal with Morgan's transformation and all those Zombie storm troopers (can the other nightsisters do that as well?) only for her to die anyway?
And the ending of this episode/season was underwhelming at best: So Ezra steals a shuttle and goes directly to Hera? Without Thrawn being aware of it? Without the republic shooting him down? And Ahsoka and Sabine just get comfortable in Ninja-turtle/Ewok/lord of the rings-land? Anyway, why was this episode taking so many visuals from LoTR? The stone figures holding their hands out, that complex that looked awfully like Minas Tirith (especially when the doors were opened)...
In fact, the whole season could have been told in 2 episodes, especially if you leave out Sabine who's not useful but really annoying anyway. Ahsoka's a walking valium pill, Baylan and Shin are way more interesting... and Thrawn's pretty much reduced to waiting for take off forever, leaving people behind and talking in a low and threatening voice. Definitely whetted my appetite for more - not.
So you expect me to believe that a fucking Star Destroyer with its hundreds of turbolasers can't hit two fucking giant dog things running in more or less a straight line for a very obvious target?
I know like Stormtroopers have famously bad aim but come on. The plot armor is strong with this one.
It was a very Anakin Skywalker plan though.
Also the action sequences were severely held back by the need to keep the show PG. The lightsabers should be dicing up those stormtroopers like they're onions. Instead we just got one beheading and it was intentionally interrupted.
It doesn't end as I expected but leaves it well on track for a season 2.
Exactly how is Ezra undetected by the witches and how does no one find out he steals a ship and leaves.
Ezra can force hold the space ship but he can't push 2 zombie dark troopers of the high platform. Yeah let's waste more time trying to cut them.
Show started promising but overall it's nowhere near close Andor.
You'd think a multi-million dollar show would have a better action sequence. What on earth was that scene where Ahsoka , Sabine and Ezra are dodging bullets from over 50 storm troopers , oh my god. That was sooo bad. Even I would have directed a better action sequence.
There is so much fury in Rosario Dawson's face while battling , but we can hardly see any of that in her fights and the result is embarrassingly cringe .
So we finished one complete season and we still haven't gotten a clue as to what Baylon Skoll's arc is? The actor has passed away , rest his soul , so I wonder what on earth would they do now .
The storm troopers usually have a zero plot armour in the movies , here they have been dialled down to -100.
And the director's idea to wrap up this garbage of a finale was to show a glimpse of Anakin in the end? Do you expect us to give a standing ovation for that?
Very very disappointing
4/10
There is no way Sabine went from struggling to pick up a lightsaber to throwing a grown ass man that far within minutes
Why doesn't the star destroyer dock with the ring ship in space, from the start of the episode?
Why only 2 fighters are sent after the jedi cruiser, which is the only thing that could follow them?
Why are they keen on making Sabine force user? Nothing else to do with her character?
Wow that went absolutely no where. I’m sick and tired of these fucking filler shows in a universe that doesnt tell a complete story.
Gosh, the writing for this show is so utterly dreadful.
Either the planet is small or you are very lucky
Boring - I simply don't care about Sabine. Baylan and Shin are way more interesting than Ahsoka and Wren, to be honest.
I don't need Ewok like turtle creatures, either. Somehow, each SW-iteration apparently needs supposedly cute but really entirely annoying creatures. And of course, Thrawn who has an entire army at his disposal can't or won't go and find Ezra who's about half an hour's walk away in the 10 years they've spent on that planet? What a surprising coincidence. Sabine betrayed everything to get to Ezra... and the emotional level of the reunion was just above freezing. What the hell?
This show doesn't make any sense. So far, we've got 6 episodes, and the plot can be summarized in 2 sentences.
This episode of Ahsoka proved that no one can write decent dialogue anymore. In the entire series, it is a trend that all scenes are acted out without emotion, so the meeting between Ezra and Sabina was barely warm, even though they had not seen each other for 10 years. Incredibly. And then Sabin doesn't find it necessary to explain anything important, but here we go to hang out with the turtles. Thrawn is just a serious disappointment. As a living character, he is completely unconvincing and looks more like Elon Musk than the heir to the Empire and the last grand admiral. There are 2 more episodes to go and I don't expect much from them. With the strike in Hollywood, even if there is a second season, I don't think we'll see it before 2025.
the stone singers are still one of the coolest things for me
I know it's sauron's power, but celebrimbor being swayed by sauron cause he got told that he was Special:tm: is killing me
I adore most of the choices this show makes, but the sudden return of Poppy, after that heartbreaking goodbye in the last episode, does not compute with me.
Like others have said, this makes what happened in The Mandalorian weird. Why did Bo-Katan just accept the darksaber when in The Mandalorian she refuses, saying that the darksaber can only be won in combat?
Great cinematography especially the fight with Ishtar and that weird eyed witch but also the dialogue between and ‘Hallbrand’
I really enjoyed the the whole season and this season finale especially. Big reveals, great acting and beautiful visuals make this a very entertaining episode. Can‘t wait for new episodes, which hopefully arrive next year.
The final scenes are very good cliff-hangers for the next season.
They tell a lot and still leave you wondering what's more to come.
One extra episode to cement the forging of the rings and how Sauron played the elves would be great, but...
I loved the twists to the story and the metaphors used.
Once I knew that the Stranger was Gandalf, by how he rebuts the 3 wanderers and how he talks with Nori, I imagined that Sauron would have to be some elf already in the story, but who? Didn't occur to me that Halbrand would be him... he's missing the ear tips, but ok.
Numenor's queen returning not only blind, but to a harbour of black flags, that was an omen almost to the letter of what her father said - and it was incredible. The unfolding of Numenor's fall is on the works - not that I like it, cause Numenorians, but it's how Tolkien wrote!
I am curious how the dwarves story will continue, since the ending was a bit open. But good, very good.
All the races and cities got their finalle and I'm eager for the next season!
After watching ALL 8 episodes of this series I think I need to comment now!
WOW!! is what comes to mind on such a brilliant well thought out and constructed story and the acting was excellent too.. Thank you guys ;-)
People with no patience don’t like this show. It is very faithful and gave me goosebumps in this season finale.
The stranger may or may not be Gandalf though some say it is too soon for him. I am glad he isn’t really Sauron though.
Great episode that carries the plot forward. Yes, the main characters have INSANE plot armor and maybe the creation of Mt. Doom and Mordor could have been done a little more creatively but whatever. I love the way the relationship between the Durins and Elrond is expanding, and the rest of the cast is developing great. Wonder how the season will end since like this doesn’t really set up anything to come that can be solved in one episode
After the storm in last episode, this episode is relatively very calm. But lot of happenings.
Firstly stranger leaves the harfoots, who was chased by annatar and 2 others. The storyline of dwarf kingdom was excellent. Feeling sad that a prosperous dwarves kingdom will become ruins once balrog is out. I was surprised that dwarves kingdom was so much prosperous before the events of lord of the rings. The southlands is converted to mordor and became home of orcs. Now we can see orcs gaining strength, which were weaker in earlier episodes. The massive orcs we saw in lord of the rings are about to come. I like adar as a whole, he has typical villain attitude, he helped to fill the gap till sauron makes entry officially. But I want adar to continue.
Story is going at a steady pace. Sad that only one episode is remaining.
Finally halbrand is more of looking like sauron.
It was a slow start to the series but it definitely is getting better.
That was the most epic episode ending I've seen in years. It was like this is the season finale; or the ending of a fantasy film.
I also love the ending theme song for this episode. I hope to find it in streaming services, it's a beautiful song.
Though I've found LOTR generally slow in getting to the point, perhaps why the franchise has never been a personal favourite, it's snail-slow storytelling in this one. However, I came for aesthetic and auditory goodness and I'm staying for aesthetic and auditory goodness. For the music (that Khazad-dûm chanting, Poppy's song, the score), for the art (Galadriel in flowing gowns, Galadriel in armour, Galadriel just standing around gazing into worlds unknown with those seldom blinking eyes... and of course the set design, the scenery, cinematography (that rack focus from the blight to the unfortunately named Elrond was splendid)
Art is subjective, some want more action in this show, some want more story, and some want both... I guess I could do with a better structured story, but otherwise, this is OK.
What Ezra said was really true. None of the combatants of the Clone Wars won. The Jedi were almost annihilated, the clones decommissioned, the battle droids just shut down. The only one who won was Darth Plagueis.
Quite a nice episode. Haven't seen battle droids in a while.
cephalopod activities.
can't believe she casually traumatized him lol
