So this is actually his Youtube programm and NOT the CNBC show.
I used to watch this a lot but I stopped in 2022. It became too much of a commercial for new cars instead of Jay showing his collection. Which I found so much more interesting as there are tons of channels that present the new ones.
Yeah, it's not as good as it used to be but I still prefer The Simpsons over a lot of the other crap on TV.
Dallas was a phenomenon at the time that can't be repeated or transformed in our time. The Mother-Soap. Once in a lifetime you should have watched it but skip the infamous Season 9 (if you don't know why you are either very young or completely unaware in the 80s ;-) ). I admit the quality of the show drops to the end but in general it's still a good show.
After realising it´s been a good 15 years that I´ve watched TNG I decided it´s time again. Yes, the first season is far removed from what the show went on to become and I remember when they originally aired I rejected it. I couldn´t come to grips with the characters and some of the first scripts were awful. But everything turned around and it became one of the best shows (not only in the genre) ever made.
I still only own the DVD version, I´m not a huge friend of all that remastering. I´m sure it looks and sounds better but I like to experience it the way it was originally done.
There are two kinds of sitcoms - the ones that you can watch every couple of years and still have good laughs about and then the ones you didn't even laugh at the first time. Now guess what this belongs to.
What I love the most about it is the total lack of so-called political correctness. A show like this would be impossible today because there would be an outcry and commitees beeing formed to get this off the air.
Oh what great were those times.
Yes, the show has changed over the years and so have the characters. You either like it or not. I think it`s still one of the best shows and I would take any season of Family Guy over all that reality garbage.
Really love this show. Just finished watching the whole thing again.
This is not only great comedy, this is about the people, their life and everyday problems. There arent't a lot of sitcoms you can watch more than once, this is definately one. And if you haven't watched it, well - what are you wating for ?
I´m at the point in my personal Star Trek re-run where I reached the beginning of DS9. And althought I´ve seen the show twice already I´m tickling with anticipation of what awaits me. There aren´t many shows that have that effect on me.
Even after 14 years and about 300 episodes I'm still loving this show.
Yes, from today's point of view it looks dated, even cheap at times. The CGI can't cover the fact that it was made in the mid 1990s. There is no way around that.
But let that dissuade you from watching this and you miss out on one of the best TV (not only scifi) shows ever put on TV.
I know what you´re thinking and you´re right.
Probably not a lot of people would name Magnum as one of the best TV shows off all time. But it is one of those iconic and memorable shows of the 80s that you can whatch again and again. The cast was perfect for the show, it sure was Tom Sellecks role of a lifetime. The same can probably be said for Hillerman. This isn't just another detective show it´s much more. Towards the end it became more serious and character driven which didn´t hurt. I always thought this was much more about the characters and their relations than anything else.
And on a sidenote: it was sometimes mentioned that this was more a show for the women because of Selleck. But let me remind you that some of the most gorgeous women of the 80s gueststarred on Magnum.
If you really love cars you should look up this channel on youtube. Short but high quality content not just about cars but about the people who own them. The kind of stories a true car enthusiast loves and can relate to.
If you read my comments on episodes of Star Trek you'll find I've put many points of critique in. Why still give it a 10 ? Because for what it stands for. The kind of future it predicted. And for what it started. Althought that point no one could foreseen, or would have believed, they are still here in whatever form of show.
And a lot of critique stems from the fact I'm writing this over 50 years after it aired. I'm putting on a form of measurement that probably isn't justified. I've watched this show many times before, always enjoyed it, and still do. Even if I don't like certain aspects I still like this show as a whole. And there are episodes that I like today that I didn't before.
And that's one reacurring trademark of Star Trek for me - it changes everytime I watch it.
This is the kind of show I can watch anytime, anywhere and I will always be in a better mood than I was before.
The term "Totally Ninja !" could have been invented for this in the first place.
Update: I just read that Max Wright passed away a couple of days ago. RIP in thank you for all the great moments.
Am I the only one who thinks comedy/sitcoms were better in general when they didn´t grew on trees?
Up to today "The Nanny" still is one of my all time favs. Although you knew from the start of the show were it would lead, and although they were using about every possible cliché, the characters grew on me and I not only watched for the good comedy it was but to see how the story and the characters evolved.
Today, whenever I happen to find an episode running, and it is still running somewhere, I can´t resist to watch.
One of the best car shows since the beginning. Not like all the american where at a certain point all they do is shouting and yelling and trying to be cool.
Mike & Ed stay true to themself. They fix cars.
Shoot me, but I still think it´s the best comedy out there.
Very entertaining, I enjoyed this very much. Took me about 10 days for the whole show.
Lots of action, space battles, ground battles, Lightsabre fights. But what really makes it worth watching is the writing, some really good story arcs that complement the whole saga.
I would recommend this wether you're a Star Wars fan or not.
I had never considered watching this as those kind of shows are usually not my cup of tea. About a year ago we discovered it on TV while zapping through the channels. It's actually entertaining and even interesting at times. And it's something even my wife likes, so we can watch together. I like the judges and Wil Willis (what a name) is a good host. Another good thing is that they don't compete for silly amounts of money but rather something more down to earth. We are watching re-runs at the moment and hope to catch up in the future
Since I have already written lots of coments on the shows seasons and episodes I will end up by just adding this:
I hope the real Kathy Reich is a more sympathetic person than Dr. Temperance Brennan.
Until now I hadn´t watched CSI: Miami from start to finish. The first four seasons were really good. With the fifth something changed. Writing dropped at leats two steps. Some of the cases were not only unbelievable sometimes they seemed to have forgotten how to use their evidence. The started story arcs left, right and center only to close them down quickly because they didn´t work. Alltogether the whole show became to flashy. I might have stopped there but I wanted to know how the story around Horatio evolved. Unfortunately it didn´t really. In general the show became better towards the end but CBS cancelled about 4 weeks after the final episode of season 10. So they never got to close out the show.
As a whole it still is a good show. I don´t like the comparisons between the different CSI branches. I think you should see them all independently. And to those who are always complaining about stuff like how it is not possible to get DNA result within minutes: you´re right. But would you rather wait until next season for the conclusions ?
One of the All Time Top 10 shows. They created a whole new genre with X-files. I still remember the vivid discussion I had with my friends about the plot.
One of the best documentary series. The mixture of eye witness accounts, original footage and re-enacment makes this a thrill to watch. Also this is highly informative because of the detailed explanations why those accidents happened.
The early ones, from the 60´s, are better. Still one of the all time cartoon classics.
They should have stopped after Season 8 the last two were really bad and in my eyes pulled the whole series down a bit. Still up to that point it's a great show and I really enjoied it.
Watched the first episodes of season 9. Well, they didn't re-invent the wheel - it's 24. And if you liked it before you probably like it again. Storylines in general are as usual but for me it feels cheaper than before production wise. Looks like a lot less money went into it.
The last true Star Trek. Such a shame it didn't got the end it deserved.
And No, I don't consider the crap JJ Abrahms puts out Star Trek.
One of the few car shows I´m still watching. Yeah, it´s not the best thing in TV land but it is still entertaining and the short format helps.
Really loved The Pretender, still do. I think this was one of the best shows. Sadly they blew the chance to end the plot properly with the movies.
One of the all time classic cartoons. Funny and intelligent - timeless entertainment.
