There's nothing wrong with the performances. However a lot of the beginning is boring due to being too familiar. The second half I think is quite great actually. Then the very end is just horrible. I don't know, I found it quite clever to make Freddy a pedophile that is getting revenge on teenagers who told on him. Gives him more of a motive and more character build up even. The original is way creepier though. How Freddy was taken out made sense like it would work to take him out that way. So him returning right away just made no sense to me.
