Equals 2015

I was not expecting to be so blown away by this movie but HOLY COW I thought it was great!! There doesn't need to be a lot of dialogue to tell such a great story, especially as Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart are so emotive in their expressions and actions. Not only that, but their chemistry was so great that it only created a deeper connection between myself and the characters and soon enough, I was hooked. My one problem with Equals is that it follows a pretty formulaic Romeo and Juliet-type romance and is very reminiscent of the dystopian future YA series I used to read. Not to say that it isn't a bad thing, but it is something that I am very familiar with. However, the ending still had me gripping the edge of my seat. I don't think that I've been this invested in a fictional pairing, or "ship" as the youngins call it, since I stopped reading said YA books, and it was kinda nice to be reminded of what it feels like to ~believe in love~. I won't forget this movie anytime soon!
