An almost unbearable episode due to the title character. Star Trek never does well when the focus is on a guest character (why should we care about them?), and it's made worse due to the bad writing and performance of Melora herself. She's unpleasant from the start, talking down to everyone and being especially rude to her senior officers. That should not be something she gets away with.
The rest of the episode makes up for it somewhat. Julian is pretty great, Siddig's acting has improved noticeably and he's quite charming here. The Quark subplot is fun even if a bit stupid and the Klingon restaurant is brilliant.
