A very dull movie for one involving magic... It was very boring until the last 20 minutes and it kept introducing useless characters, like what's up with the elf detective that had been hunting Leilah for years? Are they rivals/archenemies? Is Leilah a famous criminal in the Elf community? Who knows, the film sure does not! And who was the hobo guy that knew everything fom the beginning of the movie? What happened to him and why did he know so much? What is the Shield of Light and how does it work? Who are the Inferni? Who the hell is the Darklord?? This movie didn't answer ANY of these questions, it was just "hey, follow these two ratially different cops in a MAGICAL ADVENTURE that is actually just a shooting flick". And why is Will Smith's character so skeptical about magic? I understand that as a human you don't see magic exactly everyday... oh except THAT YOU DO because you live in a world populated by magical creatures and that was once ruled by a DARKLORD WITH MAGIC WANDS! And also, why would something like Shrek exist in a movie where fantastic creatures are real?? Every fantasy movie, or the fantasy genre itself, should be considered history in this universe!
