They took a great book and made into another, different, but still equally great story. I do not think a more faithful version would make me happier, only just as happy, at most. I was at first skeptical by how they changed Sarah, and the Doctor as well, but now I am enjoying their new, and more palpable vulnerabilities, and that was a pleasure I did not have while reading. The development between Kreizler and Mary was done so well. That final scene was just lovely, and yet so bitter. I love how they did it, and I think Brühl is really showcasing his skill here, and Q'orianka Kilcher has the ability to make my heart ache just with her eyes. This show has just been so above any expectation I could have, it has easily climbed to my number one favorite show right now.
