Two years have passed since the CCG's raid on Anteiku. Although the atmosphere in Tokyo has changed drastically due to the increased influence of the CCG, ghouls continue to pose a problem as they have begun taking caution, especially the terrorist organization Aogiri Tree, who acknowledge the CCG's growing threat to their existence.

The creation of a special team, known as the Quinx Squad, may provide the CCG with the push they need to exterminate Tokyo's unwanted residents. As humans who have undergone surgery in order to make use of the special abilities of ghouls, they participate in operations to eradicate the dangerous creatures. The leader of this group, Haise Sasaki, is a half-ghoul, half-human who has been trained by famed special class investigator, Kishou Arima. However, there's more to this young man than meets the eye, as unknown memories claw at his mind, slowly reminding him of the person he used to be.

@morphorod If you want a proper understanding of how things lead up to this point, I suggest reading the manga from chapter 1. Since season 1 at times missed out a lot of interesting plot points. Whereas season 2 was mostly anime only with cannon features here and there also season 3 seems to be following the manga pretty well but still even in the first episode miss out a few parts that could have better the fluidity of this episode. if you cant be bothered reading the manga. There's a YouTuber who goes through the whole thing with a cool voice over called mangastorian. He saved me a lot of time :)

@morphorod i didn't watch RE, but i've read all the manga, and the anime ends completelly different from the manga, so i really dont know how they'll start the RE story... but in the manga, kaneki fights against arima, who makes damages to his brain, kaneki then forgets his memories and the CCG starts to use him to train new soldiers who are half ghoul/human. RE starts like 1 year after the anteiku arc.
