Well..... it could've been cast and written a little better, but the message is really quite unique and incredibly important. The idea of perfection as a graspable and tangible item is something we keep wanting to believe in. The what if factor, right? Tell me, who hasn't gone through a tumultuous relationship only to wish they had a time machine to change things? What we have here is a bit of a self-discovery mixed in with some basic laughs and romantic fantasy. The acting isn't the best because the casting was altogether flimsy, which in effect caused the chemistry to be wonky, but it wasnt a bad idea. Not by a long shot.

@iamdwg That would have been the core message of the movie if they didn't ruin it with the ending, which tears the whole thing apart. Asa's character was supposed to learn that he can't control relationships, and that if it's not meant to be, it's not going to happen. Getting back together in the end nullifies the previous character development they had been constructing.

@fiodeste I get where you're coming from, and while I do agree, I think it comes down to looking at the character development of both Asa's character AND Sophie's. You see, Asa learns his lesson and is willing and actively sacrificing the relationship to do the right thing. Sophie's character development is mostly ignored if I remember correctly, but she also has a purpose, a goal, and sees the relationship a certain way. You can't blame Asa, he was doing what he was supposed to do and pulling a Butterfly Effect, it was her doing. Mostly for a happy ending without lies. It's okay. Could be better.
