@username57 I agree that this is a rehash of the TNG episode "Remember Me", which aired in October 1990 - 27 years before this episode of The Orville aired. Therefore, anybody that hasn't watched TNG, or just hasn't seen/doesn't remember that episode, won't have the knowledge of that as a frame of reference. Anyway, isn't the whole point of The Orville the fact that it's a deliberate spoof of TNG? The Orville is like a TNG for the millennials. Firestorm is perhaps a little predictable, but is in many ways a fantastic episode of The Orville. See Andrew Bloom's review, where he explains exactly what these ways are.
