English title: Grade-schooler Living Alone

It is exactly what it says on the tin; A girl named Rin is still attending primary school when she loses both of her parents. Instead of being placed into foster care, she is forgotten by the system, so she decides to simply carry on by herself. She turns the house they were living in, located on Enoshima Island which is off of the Kanagawa coastline, into a restaurant and uses what little money she can find to keep it (and herself) afloat.

It's not easy to watch, because you have to download an app, but it's a cute, funny, and sometimes even charming way to kill three minutes if you have nothing to do. I really like the premise, though. Rin doesn't let anything wear her down and defaults to kindness even when she is being attacked directly. But she isn't ineffable (I hope no one from the Health Department finds her restaurant), so her saintly personality actually comes across as believable. This results in her finding friends and allies in the strangest of people, and her restaurant develops a small cult following who begrudgingly stomach Rin's potentially deadly cooking as a way of supporting her efforts. It would be nice to see a fully-fleshed out Anime come out of this.
