State of Grace 1990

I became aware of this here on Letterboxd. I love mob films and this was recommended to me. I think it's so strange that this film is not very well known because it is a great mob thriller with a fantastic cast!

Sean Penn, Ed Harris and Gary Oldman take the lead in this film but is Gary Oldman who really steals the show in here! We know the guy is a fantastic actor and once again in this film he gives an absolutely amazing performance. Neurotic, crazy and wild. I loved his performance.
The supporting cast is also great with actors such as Robin Wright, John Turturro or John C. Reilly.

State of Grace it's a very well done film that tells a great story about the Irish-American gangsters in New York City. It's a story about loyalty and betrayal. It's dark, thrilling, violent with a very intelligent dialogue that will keep you interested since the very beginning.
Ennio Morricone's score is excellent and I have to mention the final montage because everything about that ending is absolutely amazing.

If you are a fan of mob films as I am please see this film. You won't regret it.
