A pretty interesting movie about bush pilots in Canada and World War II. The plot is decent, but most of the actors are forgettable, and the film occasionally falls into the usual pitfalls of glorifying-the-troops propaganda war films. Scenes where the air force is on display drag on too long and feel too much like newsreel shorts (recruiting scenes, pilot graduation scene, etc).
Cagney carries the film wonderfully though; it's a pleasure to watch his performance, even surrounded by such mediocrity.
