Just plain bad but I don't normally like musicals at all anyway. Every time a song broke out it felt like a moment out of a bad movie in which I'm not sure if I'm supposed to laugh at how bad this is or simply accept it. I settled somewhere in the middle.
The only scene that I believed was legitimately good was Elton's first performance in California. Every other scene was dreadful.
