[7.0/10] A fun way to do a “three stories episode” in a Recess guise. I like Butch as our narrator, assuring us that these events really truly honestly actually happened. Him playing Rod Serling is a nice choice.

The first story, about Cornchip Girl being a werewolf, had its moments. I like Gus getting to apply some of his experiences from having lived in England, and the whole group basing their knowledge on an episode of “Monster Detective P.I.” was a chuckle. The story was kind of rushed, but that’s natural in these sorts of episodes. And the kindergartener twist was a hoot.

The second story, about the bikes coming to life, was my clear favorite of the three. Mikey waxing poetic about his bicycle, and the fun cartooniness of his kid conveyance attacking everyone, made it a winning little story. This one also had the best laughs, and the best parody of monster movie tropes. Plus the twist at the end with the bus made no sense, but that feels like a legit Twilight Zone twist.

The third story, about zombie Finsters, was alright. The “breaking promises makes bad things happen” is some amusing kid logic, and the zombie Finsters themselves were neat design-wise. (I especially like their lurching admonitions of “hooligans” and “ne'er do wells.”) But the whole thing felt kind of half-formed.

Overall, this episode provides some nice, low-impact Halloween fun. The bike segment and the wrap-arounds are really the only elements of the episode that stand out as truly grand, but the other two are watchable at worst.
