Gilmore Girls

Season 1

Quirky and fun, Gilmore Girls is a lighthearted family comedy that delivers an impressive first season. Developed by former Roseanne writer Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show follows a mother and daughter, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, who live in a small New-England town called Stars Hallow; and when Rory gets accepted into a prestigious private school Lorelai most seek help from her estranged parents. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are perfectly cast as the leads and give tremendous performances. In fact the entire cast is quite good and has great chemistry together. And the show’s trademark fast-paced, quippy dialog is rather clever and has a certain charm to it. Still, the series can get a little too farcical at times. Season 1 of Gilmore Girls, while it has its problems, is an incredibly entertaining and touching show about family and growing-up.
