Not the strongest finale. The conclusion to Avasarala's venture especially isn't the strongest. The stuff the Rocinante crew has to deal also at times feels a bit dragging. Their best moments however are saved as the episode closes: as Roci's engine burns and we get a closeup shot of Project Caliban, slowly burning, as the Arboghast descends into Venus and gets instantenously shattered, and as Naomi tells her secret to Jim Holden... that was a heart-breaking setup masterfully done for the third season.

There is a child-like innocence as Ganymede's Caliban clutches the core, trying to cracking the ball in a fetal position, like a child opening up their toy. Behind the monstrous behavior, there is a child's soul residing within, and if Miller was there, he'd know that it's true. The fact that Protogen possibly stores a wide array of them ready at a place somewhere, as dr. Kirkland wishes Mei a good-night sleep, made the whole affair much more monstrous.
