I have to praise Orange again for their remarkable understanding of the source manga and how they carefully enhance their adaption with the new possibilities that animes offer. Especially the split screens are a really good addition and help further our understanding of the characters and their feelings and motivations.
But also the voice acting is really good and fitting. There is an important difference between just reading a role and really bringing it to life. Juno's little stutter when adressing Legoshi in the club room, which might or might not be acted, is one of the many examples.
I know this is more of a general comment on the adaption and less on the episode itself, but this one just made me want to praise Orange and the VAs

Today's episode contained a lot of important story developments and revelations that will sure be important later on:
We've got Juno's quick development from a damsel in distress and shy newcomer to a force to be reckoned with for Louis on his way to becoming Beastar. And therefore we've now got to decide if we want to cheer for her or him going forward. We've also got to wonder how much of her affection for Legoshi is real and how much is calculated and acted.
We've got the real world effects of the killings in the news on the pupils shown, when the light suddenly goes out. It's a very powerful image how the supposedly evil carnivores hermivores were trying to evade only one or two episodes ago (the chess game scene), are now being protected by the exact same.
And Juno realized that Legoshi might be a harder catch than she thought. And her confusing when she saw him and Haru might or might not boild down to some deep seated species-based prejudices. We'll see.
What the anime adaption did omit was the exchange between Bill and Louis following the bloody scratch on Louis' hand.
That is a first for the anime - leaving a whole scene out. Huh...
