Probably the best episode of season 1. This has a lot of fun with the concept of an alternate universe and feels like it's on a bigger scale than anything that's come before. It's all genuinely exciting. I particularly like that it's all from Daniel's perspective as I don't think it would have worked quite as well with any of the other core characters. Plus, he gets to express a level of frustration and disbelief that helps the episode along.
Every actor modifies their performance just enough to be both recognisable and different from the version we know. Really well done.
I love that Catherine returns. It works as both a callback to another episode/the original film for the audience, and as a way for Daniel to try and connect with her by telling her things he knows from her past.
Doctor Carter's final scene is great. You think she's taking the coward's way out but then flips it around to show that she's still a bad ass.
This episode establishes the 38 minute window for maintaining an open wormhole on the Stargate. It will come up fairly often.
Aww, England is totally wiped out.
Good thing that Daniel didn't need the alien remote control to get back home after all.
