@erebos Someone or something has some sort of plan with this particular serpent I would assume, since they made it so that Mother's blood/juice/whatever gave it some crazy powers, like flying for example. The question for next season is what/who manipulated Mother and why. I would not condemn this show yet.
@erebos Right?! Up until this episode, the show has been pretty good. This episode makes it seem like one of those shows that try too hard to be complex. After this finale, I feel like the next season is going to have a really convoluted plot.
@timwie - yep. Check out the Egyptian god Apep/Apophis. I swear they just conflated mythologies. Hopefully they can properly structure the show so there's clarity and we don't have to keep searching for meaning.
@erebos I think there is an intelligent invisible force that might be this snake thing that is playing the role or at least pretending to be sole/god. My issue is that they didnt try killing the thing reasonably (knife, bashing with a rock, gun shot) before jumping face first into the core of the plant with not 1 but both androids.

So, Mother gave birth to one of the giant serpents that once roamed the planet and went extinct? Why?? What purpose does that serve? Apart from a handful of people, there isn't anything for it to eat anyway, so it will just go extinct again. Is that what it is? The planet's defense system against invaders? Because if it wasn't the digital simulation of Campion (the Creator), who/what impregnated Mother after all?
And what about the prophecy? The very obvious reference to the Virgin Mary and Joseph? Or is it Eve and Adam now that we have a snake? And the revelation that the indigenous population was Neanderthals that devolved into the "creatures" made no sense.
I hope the creator of the series, Aaron Guzikowski, never gets to work writing scripts again.
