It took me 4 attempts to make it through this movie.
I personally don't see what the fuss is all about, I don't see the hype and I don't see what makes it scary. I've never tried to enjoy a movie as much as I tried to enjoy this one but I just can't, I'm sorry, I found it predictable and dull. I understand this is a "slow-burn" but there's a difference between slow-burn and an utter snooze-fest. Nothing shocked me, nothing scared me or drew me into the story, it just felt like a bland experience, something completely forgettable.
The acting was all over the place, and either I'm missing something or the story-line didn't make any sense. It felt choppy and mismatched and whilst I've noticed some critics saying that they hated the characters I can't say I agree because to hate something you have to care about it, and I just just didn't care about any of them.
Ultimately I wouldn't even call this a thriller, let alone a horror. If you like self-torturing yourself with awful movies then please, feel free to give this a go, I hope you enjoy it more than I did, but if you want strong characters, a decent story-line, good acting, and any character development I'd suggest you look elsewhere for your movie choice.
