There is a tendency to gratuitous violence, and a misogynistic reading (women play a secondary or directly sexual role) characteristic of Russian productions. The virus is the least important in favor of a story about the struggle for survival. This is the most interesting of a tv-show that is skidding until crashing in an absurd ending.
