The same thing happened when she first arrived to earth, Clark was so worried about her being a normal cornbilly girl that never bothered warning her about Lex and that’s how they even got close enough that Lex noticed something suspicious was happening. And why introduce a new interesting female character just to kill her within the same episode?!! They do the same thing EVERY DAMN TIME.
