So good! So entertaining! So innovative! This opened the door to a new world to be explored by marvel, both in what stories they tell and how they tell them.
At first I also was like wait where’s dr strange, carol, the x men, the fantastic 4, but then I was like... wait a minute, what’s the rush? This is only the introduction to phase 4, we have like a decade to go and dozens of projects to go with the era and this was Wanda’s story and the focus was on her grief, recovery and realizing she is THAT girlie.
However at the end I felt like Monica and Agent Woo were useless or underused; Darcy, even not always present on screen, was the one who figured everything out, found out about the plan of using Vision as a weapon, helped Vision multiple times and explained to him what happened, and then “defeated” Hayward, but like yeah Woo called the FBI but they were super late to the party, and Monica I think she got her powers? and was willing to sacrifice herself for the twins? the first few episodes she was an active and essential character but then she got in again and couldn’t help wanda and we don’t see her again and she’s just standing there looking hot and pretty (not complaining) so maybe they should’ve just introduce her character but not her powers just yet or idk... my point is that on the couple last episodes agent woo and monica felt like they didn’t fit the show, which makes sense cause it was literally wanda’s show (but I love them and can’t wait to see more of them)
And the one thing I hate was Hayward, like who, what, why, WHY? I love a good villain (hello Agatha) but Hayward was just a loser, all we know is he was the interin sword director, and he wanted to bring Vision back online to use as a weapon (against who? or why? how did he got Vision’s body? we don’t know) and that from the start he had animosity against Wanda (shouldn’t every agency/government/agent be thankful to the avengers?) and that he was taunting her about her powers and Vision (how did it even occur to him that w could bring v back to life?) so I was expecting for a big reveal like he’s from another universe/dimension where it’s already known Wanda is the Scarlett Witch? or that he hates the avengers cause he’s pro thanos? ANYTHING TO EXPLAIN WHY HE IS A VILLAIN, cause I know there’s bad people just because, but I refuse to believe Marvel wasted a villain in a man being bad just because...
And imo the show holds pretty good on its own, it didn’t need special guests or every avenger to pay a visit, but the story did need an avenger in the sense that it’s been three weeks since the events of endgame and Tony’s funeral, so my logic would be that the avengers are tight and checking up on each other, Wanda was rolling with Cap, Black Widow, Falcon and WS after Civil War and before the snap, so wouldn’t she still be close w Falcon and WS? Wouldn’t they be checking up on her? Specially cause they know she’s going through immense grief??? Like they don’t even text each other??? And then Rhodey was like the liaison between the government and the avengers, so wouldn’t he be informed about a freaking hex??? Or Nick Fury?? Clint owes Wanda and I think they were together at Tony’s funeral? Or wouldn’t Dr Strange sense the magic and be like oh I know her, we fought together, lets help her? So I didn’t want an avenger to come save the day, or cause the show needed a WOW element, but because they are supposed to be a TEAM yet they are never there for each other, and I know it’s the mcu and not Friends but like I feel there would be a whatsapp groupchat, or at least I want Wanda to have a friend, like imagine how lonely and sad she feels... so fck every avenger!
