It's like they want to have the show be like what comic books use to be. Like they aren't reimaginating the stories to fit some new socio-political agenda.

@cmonster I'm pretty sure they actually fired writers for trying to make it super "woke". I think they wanted to have another show like Smallville, a show focused on actually telling a story rather than a show more focused on pushing a political agenda.

@cmonster It's great, isn't it? This! This is what I've been looking for, a straight shooting superhero show that's just fun, wholesome and focused on telling a Superman story. I have high hopes for this show, I really hope they don't do a 180 down the line.

@isdamc I certainly hope so, I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. Except for Lana, to me it doesn't even seem like her, she doesn't fit very well but time will tell.

Yeah, like when the boys apologise to each other for kissing the girl without consent. Cause girls are property and kissing them without asking damages the owner not the girl herself. Wow, so fun. Also kissing girls when they barely know you and in the process of talking about that time they wanted to kill themselves is so fun too. People who want go back to these times are f*king scary man. -_-

@cmonster if you think old comic books didn't have a socio-political agenda, i've got some news for you lol

however i do agree with the sentiment that a story can be told without it having to be a political statement. likening that to old comic books though isn't entirely accurate as many comic books, for decades even, were used to help push the political agenda of the time.
