It's cute enough for a kids show whose audience is 99% children, but I'm disappointed in Nickelodeon/Viacom/whoever for greenlighting this not just because Hillenburg didn't want any SBSP spin-offs, but because they waited until after his death to do so.

The writing is slightly dumbed down compared to the main show and fortunately isn't on par with hot garbage like Teen Titans Go, and I don't think the CGI animation is too bad either, but a lot of fans are also disappointed that they went with a cheaper-to-animate style over 2D animation.

I don't blame people for thinking that Nick/Viacom/whoever just wanted to make a cheap spin-off to entice people to subscribe to Paramount+, and I don't disagree. Can't they just count themselves lucky that Peacock/NBC/Comcast is failing harder than they are?
