Which would put it June-July 1989. However the episode states April 14 nineteen eighty something as it always uses the air date of the episode but nineteen eighty something but that would make it still slightly early (in the USA). However we also wouldn't have any idea if Adam simply got it from Japan.

A GameBoy appeared in the episódio, but according to wikipedia, it was released in US in the 1990, and not in the 80s.
