I also don't get / don't buy why the treatment meant that Melora wouldn't have been able to return to low/zero-grav environments. After the effects became permanent, why wouldn't it affect her the same as any human?

The Quark subplot was great solely for Odo's happy little smile as he daydreams about Quark's demise.

I would guess from the aforementioned confusion to her cortex or whatever, which Bashir warned her about if she used her anti-grav unit in her quarters
