I have to be honest and confess that I have always been a sucker for the Brits Sense of humour. The Satire and black witty comedy gets to me every single time as opposed to the obvious in your face HaHa American humour. So, I immediately took a liking to the movie with the witty, funny, and satiric script which got me cracking up every step of the way and that is a very hard thing to do..
Also, the heart felt feeling through out the movie that I could relate to all of the characters, focusing that in this day and time surrounded by a technology that is supposedly helping us to stay connected 24/7, we never actually felt more alone.
Once again The critics and I disagree, which is a good thing cause I was starting to get a bit worried about myself..
A Long Way Down received negative reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a score of 21% based on reviews from 39 critics, with a rating average of 3.9 out of 10.
However, IMHO I strongly suggest you watch it, if you are looking for a picture that will leave you light-hearted and thinking.. Well, no matter how much it suck, life really is not that bad..
