Game of Thrones

Season 8

What did they do to this show. I had heard that season 8 was bad, which is why I was very confused during the first few episodes. Did I have bad taste or something? Because this isn't that bad. I was so wrong. As soon as I finished episode 4 I understood. I could see where it was going and I did not like it at all. The Bells was honestly the worst episode of television I've ever seen, in terms of writing at least. The really sad thing about the season is that the acting, cinematography, and music was all so consistently good and you could tell everyone was trying so hard to make this ridiculous script work as well as possible. And honestly, they did a damn good job with it, but the script was so awful that it couldn't be saved. They were on a sinking ship and they knew it. I really wish they had gotten better writers for this show, it could've been so great right up to the end, but I guess not. Game of Thrones brought me on this wonderful, intelligent, harrowing, and realistic journey for so long, and you expect a show like that to end in glory, solidifying it's place in history. That is not what happened at all. As opposed to ending with a triumphant statement, it ended with a whimper. I'm not so much angry as I am sad and disappointed. This was just...really unfortunate.
