@thepolarcat In general, it's a big visual change something people often choose for while they are going through a personal crisis and want to make a (loud) change. For these people, but also in general for some cultures, cutting your hair may very well be a show of strength and resolve. Examples would be after a period of mourning, such as after someone's passing away or after a relationship ended, or when they want to strengthen their resolve. The haircut signifies a positive or negative change, a new chapter. A change in identity and/or attitude.
