Yes, this is exactly what I felt. Went into the movie thinking it would be a 8-9 but it was 6 at best. Felt really boring even though I love sci-fi and I didn’t like any of the characters and the desert. The sound was loud and the sudden cuts to bright scenes from darkness gave me a headache in the end.

I’m pretty disappointed too. All hyped reviews and at the end I’ve asked myself ‘is this it’? I’ve red the book, watched all movies (including documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune), played all computer games… for me the TV series was the best till now.
@gusmack I agree. The David Lynch movie had better music and better mood.

So they turned Muad'Dib into edward scissorhands in a desert. They dragged the story on and on with endless slow mo and flash forwards. Dissapointing, the cinematography and soundtrack was brilliant but thats all. 5/10 is generous. Ive read the books and watched all the dune tv shows and the 1984 movie and i would recommend them as a must watch before this.
