Candy is an extremely twisty and arresting thriller that is backed by the brilliance of Ronit Roy and Richa Chada. With a snazzy and smart presentation, Candy keeps you hooked with its intense drama, its uncertainty of mystery, powerhouse performance, and resolute direction by Undekhi famed Ashish Shukla. The 8 episode show has a few niggles and inconsistencies but on a whole is a smart, engaging, and binge-worthy tale you just cannot miss.
Candy is a fresh mixture of many genres with consistent horror elements, its an engrossing drama about an investigation of drug mafia as well. The cinematography is immaculate which includes the beautiful city of Rudrakund and the fast paced screenplay adds to its uniqueness. The sound design and production design is on point with no issues whatsoever. The performances by each and every character is top notch especially the leads Ronit Roy, Richa Chada, Manu Rishi Chada and Nakul Roshan Sandev. With many other actors doing grear justice to their short but impactful roles. The credit for the most part should be going to director Ashish Shukla who after Undekhi has produced something fresh and engaging with similar twisty DNA. Overall, Candy is quiet engaging and tastefully binge-worthy.
