The direction is fine as well. Except Cruella in this doesn’t want to kill animals and wear them. So what is the point of her name even being Cruella Devil ? It’s like what Disney did to Maleficent who was a nice fairy until her wings were cut off. There was no sign of the evil villain from Sleeping Beauty. Here, there’s no sign of the evil villain from One Hundred and One Dalmatians either. Since spoiler, she even eventually owns Dalmatians. The film does give her a good reason not to like them but this version of Cruella acts like she would never kill a dog. Despite that this is a fun and entertaining movie that really had no point in being made. Since like Maleficent it makes an evil villain good. It’s like if Disney makes a prequel movie about Palpatine from Star Wars except he is never actually evil or the bad guy.
