All the characters are valuable to the show that is why each one of them has a plot. And let's be honest, it's a Sci-Fi show, it's complicated and messy.
@ladyzee, yeah but the mystery and the main plot from the 1st season. i miss that, i can´t enjoy this like i used to :(
