Leather spacesuits with big collars, an awesome spaceship and Skittle-colored alien landscapes. In other words, a cool looking movie. The story and acting are a bit of a letdown, though.
As you'll likely see in many other reviews, this seems to be the birthplace of Ridley Scott's "Alien", but it's clearly just an inspiration, as it's not nearly as interesting story-wise. "Planet of the Vampires" is also quite slow. The twist ending is fun but borrowed from the (spoiler coming) first season Twilight Zone episode "Third From the Sun".
"PotV" also has one of the coolest movie posters I think I've ever seen. Time to get one for the Man Cave.
