I feel like Gary's character has gone a little bit off the rails from the first episodes. And one might say: well yes, after what he found out. Yeah, but it feels like he lost his original essence. That sort of sarcastic aplomb, which made him so enjoyable in my view. I see where the rip of his routine and crumble of his world is coming from but I don't know, felt a little bit weird the roller coaster of his initial floating through life, then slowly blossoming thanks to Mary, then hating her and then this final moment. A little bit out of character in changing what had appeared to be his main features as well as his relationship with his daughter
