Not sure I totally agree about the contrivance, although things have gotten a bit mopey the last few episodes. I like the idea that 8man is changing and I much prefer that to 2 seasons of a show that ends the same way it started. And this love triangle needs resolving at some point :P (although it probably won't happen, I'm not that naive).
