The Green Inferno 2013

I don't get ANY of the hype over this movie; I don't get the negative hype about all the sociopolitical commentary, and I don't understand the hatred over what a sucky movie it was. I also don't get the hype about how awesome it was and how it "paid homage to Cannibal Holocaust because it clearly was not an awesome movie and the only "homage" it paid was having a couple of cannibalistic scenes in it. First time I've heard of cannibals applying a dry rub, then taking the time to slow-smoke their meat. Most of this was so ridiculous it was hard to feel anything other than "How much longer?" I admit, after reading review about it, I went into it with some trepidation, wondering if it would be worth watching. I'll give Eli Roth credit where it's due, though: after Hostel his name carried (past tense) enough weight that I went with my instincts and watched this. Big mistake. This isn't a "horrible" movie and it certainly isn't a "great" movie; it's 100 minutes of time absolutely wasted. And there are far better ways to waste 100 minutes.
