While the cast is interesting and talented, I didn't like how they treated most of the characters. Mr Collins looked somewhat autistic, never looking anyone in the eye, and expressing himself in a monotone voice, and I'm not sure this is what they were going for. Darcy was more awkward than cold and distant, Bingley was barely there and Lydia and Kitty were insufferebale because they laughed randomly at everything. Keira Knightly as Lizzie was too beautiful to be second to Jane, honestly, and she missed her sarcastic personality. Of course the story had to be condensed a lot, and they tried to make some scenes feel more urgent or dramatic (for exemple the last dialogue between Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Lizzie in this version takes place in the middle of the night, and it doesn't really make sense for an old lady to travel late at night just to make sure her nephew is not engaged to someone lower, and it was also pretty scandalous at the time for a woman to impose herself at such hour of the night. Not to mention Lady Catherine is an old lady and doesn't exactly live near the Bennets, it would have taken a few hours to travel there probably...); but yeah, I understand they wanted to make this conversation more dramatic than it already was...), missing the logic of them a little bit.
They modernized the wardrobe quite a lot, especially Lizzie's (tho' she wore very beautiful dresses that I would love to wear myself).
The same day I re-watched the BBC miniseries of 1995, and this doesn't stand a chance, unfortunately.
