1x02 The Rogue Prince

I actually think this show is moving at a way faster pace than GOT did. GOT (in the good seasons) took its time and it took a while for major events to happen. So far in HOTD a lot is happening in each episode to move the plot forward. And I think both paces work for their respective shows.

@matts I see a trend these days that whatever the show, people complain it's slow. A large portion of viewers have lost all understanding for building the plot. And as @justinnumerick above points out, it's actually quite quick honestly.

@matts The pacing of this show so far is actually faster than the original show.

@matts It annoys me when people call anything that's not a battle or a big dragon set piece "slow and boring". This is the entire point of GoT and HotD. It's political, dramatic conversations and the chess piece moving of people of power. The show really is, so far, the best parts of GoT boiled down and streamlined. It's great.

@matts GOT fans have no clue what makes pacing good or not. They went way slower for the 3-6th seasons of GOT and then they got mad when the last two seasons went at a normal pace.

@matts seems be a lot of pacing comments for this and rop. I haven't felt that at all. You have to build a good foundation.

@matts Don't wanna sound like a damn boomer, but zoomers really have been getting their attention span obliterated by reels and shorts in social network apps lol. I even felt this happen a bit with myself, and I seldom use TikTok or Instagram. People would benefit a lot by learning to have patience and appreciate slow burners and longform art.

@voshchronos I mean while that is a stereotype of GenZ. There really isn't anything there to tell what age group the commenters are from. But yeah, patience is a great thing to have in life.
