@raix I'm afraid the industry is fully embracing HDR as a standard now, so all of us poor bastards with no HDR displays will suffer through these "dark times".

@fastsloth87 I have an HDR LED TV and it was still too dark for me. Even Suicide Squad was brighter than this.

@misnomer LCD tech can't really do real black, anything below HDR 1000 isn't really HDR, OLEDs are good for that, QD-OLEDs are even better.

@fastsloth87 I just checked the specs of my LED TV and it says 999 cd/m² for HDR, so I guess you're right :laughing:

@misnomer what model is it?

@fastsloth87 it's a Sony XH95

@misnomer That's a perfectly good HDR capable TV, are you sure HDR is on?

@fastsloth87 yup, watched it in Dolby Vision Bright and in a low lit room. Still too dark of an episode.

@misnomer Just tested on my OLED phone and it looks great, I can see Daemon's arm scars when they're doing the thing. I guess OLED really makes the difference then.

@fastsloth87 nope, still too damn dark in my AMOLED screen phone (1+ 8 Pro), but I didn't push the brightness all the way up to the max. It's just a really dark episode, there's no way around it.

But, yeah, I do agree that OLED screens are currently the best for watching this type of darkened content (or any kind of video content, really). The OLED I wanted was just too pricey at the time I was forced to purchase a new TV (because my faithful 11 year old Samsung. dumb TV had kicked the bucket, all of a sudden, RIP). Though I am very happy with the Sony LED I got :)
