Misery 1990

This probably seemed like a silly little plot back in the day, but in an age where it has become normalized for imbeciles to harass creators on the internet, I cannot come to any other conclusion besides this being incredibly predictive and ahead of its time.
It has two great characters at the center (I like how unpredictable Annie is) and both actors do a fantastic job.
It’s sometimes on the brink of going into comedic territory, but it never passed that threshold for me.
Even the filmmaking holds up quite well; the cinematography and lighting still look atmospheric and it has some incredibly tense moments that are very well built up.
My only issue is the subplot with the sheriff, which feels undercooked. They probably should’ve spent a little more time on developing that stuff.
